Stowe Mountain Resort
Stowe Mountain ResortStowe was luckily a product of the Great Depression. The resort was built by the Civilian Conservation Corp in the 1940's using giant balls of string rolled down the mountain to designate their ski trails. One of the first resorts to install chairlifts and basically a gigantic magnet for new England skiing. With a fantastic local scene devoid of any corporate logos or operations, the village is 100% locally owned and operated. The infamous Front Four (Starr, Goat, National and Lift Line) are arguably the most exciting runs on the East coast. Over thirty-nine miles of skiing.
