 Since 1959 The Homestead, Virginia has been offering a great cross-country skiing destination to the mid-Atlantic area. Downhill skiing and snowboarding are also catered to with five lifts (four surface lifts and a double chair lift) serving 9 trails. Home to The Playland Terrain Park with various features and rails for all snowboarders. Wide open slopes with long runs stretching over 4000 feet. Open year-round, their Winter season runs mid December - March, weather permitting.
Guided Snowmobile Tours are one of The Homestead's specialties. They offer guided tours on over 40 miles of trails lasting anywhere from a half hour to half a day. Cross-country skiing and guided snowshoe treks are offered on the same trails. The snowtubing area offers 3 lanes of fun, and there is also an ice skating rink (with lessons available).
