Black Mountain sits in the Longfellow Mountains of western Maine. The ski resort has operated for over four decades, offering affordable downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, and snowboarding to Maine residents and Winter visitors. Home to a large number of world and national cross-country skiing championships, Black Mountain was recently purchased by the non-profit Maine Winter Sports Center.
They have installed a lighting system to increase the slope time and provide for those wonderful nighttime skiing memories we all have. Also, a new triple-chairlift has been put in place which goes all the way to the top of the ridge now, effectively increasing the vertical drop from only 470 feet to now over 1100 feet!
The Black Mountain terrain park contains a 300-foot half pipe with 12 foot walls, 2 grind rails, a table, a spine and several rolls. Open day and night. |
