Northstar at Tahoe
Northstar at TahoeNorthstar offers a longest run of 1.3 miles called Logger's Loop. With several mile-long advanced runs on the backside of Mount Pluto to choose from. Sporting its very own Superpipe, Northstar caters to the snowboarder. The pipe is a whopping (and conincidental) 420 feet long. TransWorld rated the park #7 for the best park in North America. They dropped a terrain bomb on Northstar. Expect to find over 100 pieces of snow furniture like rails, boxes, jibs and of course jumps. Hosting the Burton Progression Park, and signature features from DC, Burton and Amped 3. Six total terrain parks not counting the Superpipe and the old halfpipe which is still a lot of fun despite its new big brother.

Terrain difficulty breaks down as follows: Beginner 25%, Intermediate 50%, and Advanced 25%.

  • Off the beaten path - I love this place, although I can't exactly say why. It seemed quieter and more laid back than the bigger resorts in Tahoe. There is a great variety in runs, which I like. This one was my top favorite in the Tahoe area, beating Heavenly easily and Squaw by a bit. It just seems more peaceful, I guess...
