Alpine Meadows is opening the 2005 season on November 18, 2005. Alpine Meadows Ski Resort is located on Lake Tahoe's North Shore in the Tahoe National Forest covering 2,400 acres of skiable powdered terrain. And snowboarders, yes they have a superpipe, the Gravity Cavity, with 16 foot walls and over 600 feet long! Climb Ward Peak at 8637 feet and bask in the view of the entire world below. Choose either side of the mountain for the perfect descent. Palisades run is a favorite among pros. If you are stupid, head towards Granite Chief for the "Idiot's Delight" run down to South Beaver.
Terrain difficulty as follows: 25% easier, 40% more difficult, and 35% most difficult/expert. Alpine offers day skiing only till 4pm.
