There must have been no one up here in the past couple of days since our last big dump, as there are entire gaping sections of tree lines that have been left untouched, waiting patiently today in Big Meadow, behind the Pumphouse, in Wristband, the Shire (above Moonlight below Duster), and in 2:30 just for me, unfortunately on my short board. Ahh, the age old question for riders, take the groomer board or the long board? Sometimes the answer I choose comes back to haunt me, as I'm digging myself out of a hole I nose-dove into on the flats leading to Pumphouse. Alas, the rough life we lead. Where is everybody? It's remained chilly despite the sun, just 25 or so today under partly cloudy skies, and the trees have kept the shaded runs in fabulous conditions. Of those four spots, I had the most fun in 2:30, although the Shire (this is our name for it, but I'm sure the older locals have another name for it) kept getting better the closer we got to Moonlight. Don't dog the groomers today either, still soft and supple on the shadowy runs that the sun doesn't bake; left top of Buddy's before we hit Big Meadow was true February conditions, with leftovers in the trees as well, and Cyclone, freshly tilled, wins the mintiest groomer of the day. I'll be sure to hit that again tomorrow if we do indeed get any from this storm that appears to be rolling in, that's one of my fav's with a fresh groom below 10" new of Champagne®. Finger-lickin'. If you're coming up this weekend, don't miss the Bud Light Rocks the ‘Boat series at the base, we got Cowboy Mouth this Saturday, starting at 3:30 for après ski! Music and freshies, can't beat that.
