The time is 9pm on Wednesday evening, the temperature is 13 degrees and we are currently making snow and it is currently snowing. Snowmaking will be continuing during skiing hours throughout the day and evening as temperatures permit on Thursday and guests should be prepared with goggles and hats during day and night skiing hours. On Thursday, we will be skiing on seven out of fourteen slopes with five out of five lifts operating. Intermediate Rock Island Run serviced by the Rock Island Run Quad Chairlift, Intermediate Lower Omigosh serviced by the Omigosh Double Chairlift, Beginners Over Easy, Beginners Easy Way and Beginners Rabbit Hill serviced by the Easy Way Triple Chairlift, the Wolf Creek Hollow Ski School Area serviced by the Moving Carpet Conveyor Lift and Beginners Luck Learning Area serviced by the Moving Carpet Conveyor lift on a base of 35-55 and a machine worked surface.

On Thursday we will offer three sessions of skiing, day skiing from 9:00am until 4:30pm, twilight skiing from 1pm until 10pm and night skiing from 6pm until 10pm with a morning or afternoon half day rate also available.

Also offered today is our Guaranteed Learn to Ski or Ride Package where first time skiers or riders age 8 and above may purchase a beginner lesson, beginners area lift ticket and ski rental equipment for only $39 or a beginner snowboard lesson, beginner area lift ticket and snowboard rental for only $55. And with our guarantee, you may repeat the lesson as often as you like during the same day session. Package lessons begin at 10, 12, 2 and 4pm and you must be here at least 30 minutes prior to the time the lesson begins to sign up. Today is also Ladies Day at Cataloochee and all ladies purchasing a full price adult day, twilight or night lift ticket will receive a free any level ski or snowboard lesson.

Tube World located in Maggie Valley, across from Ghost Town four miles from the ski area will be open from 4pm until 10pm with 1hour and 45 minute sessions available beginning at 4, 6 and 8pm. Cost for tubing is $25 per session and you must be 42" tall to ride alone. There is no two person tubing allowed at Tube World.

Also, don't forget to join the Cat Crew on Thursday nights here for the Cataloochee Challenge Cup Race Series. $10.00 gets you in and $1.00 of your race entry fee will be donated to KARE the Kids Advocacy Resource Effort of Haywood County, so come on out and race to support a great cause! Individuals race against the clock for the best of two runs. Top three challengers in both mens and womens age divisions win cool stuff. You must be 21 years of age or older to participate. Racing is from 7pm until 9pm with a post race awards party at 9:30pm, so dust off those racing skills and test your luck. The Cat is where its at on Thursday nights Challenge Cup Race Night. Call the ski area for more information. We remind you to be aware of changing ski conditions and use caution. Natural and manmade obstacles exist and snowmaking and grooming activities are routinely in progress. Please use control and ski or ride only on designated slopes and trails and please call this number anytime for current skiing conditions.

DO NOT use online map websites or GPS devices for directions. These services can direct you to roads that are impassable.
