While some may think of snowboarding as a new phenomenon, we here in Jersey know better. This March marks the 20th Anniversary of shredding at Creek and we’re throwing a huge celebration on Saturday March 1st! So dig out that day-glo suit or retro board to get in on the fun. We’ll be watching and giving away great prizes for the best looks! Be sure to hit the South Lodge to check out the flashback to the 80s exhibit, and meet us on the hill at 1pm for the Vintage Halfpipe competition. Dig out those vintage decks or cruise Ebay to really get into the spirit, there will be prizes and giveaways throughout the day. Get all the details here.

The Burton Super Demo returns to Mountain Creek’s Vernon Base this weekend from 9am - 4pm , Friday 2/29 through Sunday 3/2, giving riders of all ages the opportunity to try out the hottest new Burton boards, boots and bindings at no cost. There will be lots of giveaways and prizes from sponsors including Emergen-C, Volvo, Paul Mitchell, and GOR-TEX®. Never been on a snowboard before? No worries! Sign up for Burton’s FREE Learn to Ride program. There will be two three hour sessions on Saturday March 2, beginning at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. and advanced online registration is required at www.burtondemotour.com (space is limited). Each Learn to Ride clinic includes free rental gear, tickets and instruction so there’s never been a better time to get out and start riding!

But wait, there’s more! “Betties Take Over” on Saturday, with Shred Betties’ East Coast stop beginning at 4:30 p.m. Stop in The Appalachian to meet new betties to ride with, grab a free snack and win some prizes.

This event is open to females of all ages and their male counterparts who support their betty’s awesomeness.

No prior snowboarding experience is necessary! Shred Betties is a women’s snowboarding magazine that can be found online and in print at certain shops and resorts.

Get Out Your Costumes and Bikinis

Its one of the most popular events of the year, the Z100 Snowplow Luau and Pond skimming is Saturday, March 8th. There’s still plenty of snow on the ground, but barbeques never take an off season at Mountain Creek! Come out and take part in the festivities that include a pig roast, other BBQ specials, frozen drinks and fire dancing! After lunch, make your way over to Mountain Creek’s man-made skimming pond where participants will try their luck at making it all the way across on their skis or snowboards! Wear what you feel comfortable getting wet in, as some may not be fortunate enough to make it completely across. Keep in mind, costumes aren’t mandatory, but are certainly appreciated. Registration is required and begins at 11a.m. and the event will begin at noon. Participants must be 18+. The day’s festivities will conclude with a party in the Hex featuring Z100's DJ Romeo.
