Still Making Snow Even though all 51 snowmaking trails are covered edge-to-edge with a 40-48 inch base we are continuing to make snow Tuesday and Wednesday nights this week. Ross Powers at Mount Sunapee This Weekend Two-time Olympic medal winner (Gold 2002, Bronze 1998) and X-Games Champion Ross Powers is hosting a two-day snowboard camp at Mount Sunapee this weekend. Ross will be in the SoBe Freeride Zone all weekend working with the campers and riding the Zone. Space is still available in the Ross Powers Snowboard Camp. Snickers N’ Kickers Half Pipe Competition Sunday, February 24 Mount Sunapee is hosting the Snickers N’ Kickers Half Pipe Competition on Sunday, February 24 in the SoBe Freeride Zone. The Zone has a 300” half pipe. As an added attraction this year Ross Powers, Gold medalists in the half pipe at the 2002 Winter Olympics, will be in the Zone all weekend and will be judging the event. Registration is from 9am until 11:30am at Park Headquarters in the Zone. The registration fee is $15 and the competition begins at 12:30pm. Prizes include cash, snowboards and other items. The SoBe Freeride Zone also features a quarter pipe, vertical wall, 10 boxes, 9 rails, 8 jumps and the new 4,000 watt sound system, making it an exciting venue in which to hold an event.
