 J.P.’S NEWS FROM THE MOUNTAIN CREW - WINTER IS HERE and so is our NEW SNOWCAT! We had a record setting opening day and the 6 inches of fresh Rocky Mountain powder over Thanksgiving weekend was fantastic. The forecast calls for one or more snow storms every week for most of December. Our snowmaking is in full force, with a number of 24-hour shifts under our belt! We look forward to once again having the LONGEST ski season in New Mexico! We are so excited about the arrival of our new Baby, a Piston Bully snowcat. The addition of this important piece of equipment and improvements to our existing groomer will insure that we have fresh “corduroy” on our beginner trails and cruisers every day. JAMES REPORTS ON OPENING DAY - On November 19, for the third year in a row, Sipapu was the first ski resort to open in New Mexico! One snowboarder on opening day said it best, “This is awesome, it is just so great to be out here on the slopes again”. Thanks to our Mountain Crew, J.P., Karl and Alan, on opening day we had more terrain open than last year and a mini Terrain Park. And thanks to all our loyal guests and friends who helped to make our opening day a HUGE success!
