Great news! Cataloochee has began making snow! The temperatures are dropping and we plan making snow this evening for the first time this season and Friday evening for a POSSIBLE opening on Saturday, November 12. Check out the web cam at Ski Cam to see our progress. And don't forget to check the snow report page for the latest on opening day. Snow Report
Also, Saturday is our 6th annual season pass bash so you season pass holders come on by and smile pretty for camera and get your season passes.
We are excited about our upcoming season and special events that we have coming your way, including our 4rd annual Can- U-Ski Food and Coat Drive scheduled for Sunday, December 4. In conjunction with Haywood Christian Ministries, Cataloochee Ski Area seeks to help with the increase need for food and warm winter coats for special families. We ask all Cataloochee skiers and snowboarders to bring at least 6 cans of foods or a winter jacket of any size that is in good condition to the ski area on Sunday, December 4th and you will receive your lift ticket on that Sunday for FREE!
UPDATE! Nov 11 2005 12:30pm - You heard it here first folks. Cataloochee will NOT open tomorrow, Saturday Nov 12 2005. They made snow last night but the warmer weather is going to stop them from opening tomorrow. They plan on opening full time on Nov 25 2005.
